Background / Objective : Intra-articular (IA) mineralization caused by crystal deposition may lead to osteoarthritis ( OA )
through inflammation, release of pro-catabolism factors, or changes in the biomechanical properties of cartilage .

Previous studies on whether chondrocalcinosis (from IA mineralization) are related to the progress of OA structure are contradictory, and further research is limited by the low sensitivity of X- ray visualization of IA mineralization

BACKGROUNDBackground / / Objective Objective : crystal deposition due intraarticular (IA) mineralization by inflammation may promote or alter the release of decomposition biomechanical properties of cartilage metabolism factors lead to osteoarthritis ( OA ) is generated

MethodMethod : This is a longitudinal prospective cohort, multicenter from osteoarthritis (MOST) older studies conducted knee CT and the MRI

ResultsResults : The study included 1673 participants (mean age 60.

ConclusionConclusion : cartilage within the joint mineralization, rather than the meniscus mineralization, associated with a higher risk two years in the same compartment cartilage loss
