Blood Advances: Elderly patients with follicular lymphoma should not be disqualified for treatment because of their age

FL is one of the most common painless non-Hodgkin’s lymphomas .

There are limited data on the clinical features and prognosis of elderly follicular lymphoma (FL).

The study concluded that the early disease prognosis of elderly FL patients is similar to that of younger patients, and that age alone should not disqualify elderly FL patients from standard treatment.

There was no difference in the results of CR24, CR30 or PFS24 between patients older than 70 years old and patients less than 70 years old.

The author believes that age> 70 years is an important predictor of OS and PFS, because patients who have not progressed have a higher mortality rate .
