    Venous thromboembolism (VTE) is very common in cancer patients.

    The study included patients with resectable gastric cancer who received three cycles of epirubicin, cisplatin or oxaliplatin and capecitabine (ECC/EOC) before surgery

    The results showed that 78 of 781 patients (10%) developed VTE during preoperative chemotherapy


    In summary, the results of this study show that high BMI and previous history of VTE are independent risk factors for VTE during preoperative chemotherapy in patients with resectable gastric cancer
