For decades, there has been a one-size-fits-all approach to treating obesity in humans by adopting a low-calorie diet, however there is currently evidence that this diet-focused approach is less effective for obese adults who adhere to clinical weight management programs.
Recently, in a research report titled "Exercise training enhances muscle mitochondrial metabolism in diet-resistant obesity" published in the international journal eBioMedicine, scientists from the University of Ottawa and other institutions have challenged the above-mentioned treatments for obesity through research.
These important findings may greatly improve public health by guiding the emergence of individualized treatment plans that can also help people with difficult-to-treat obesity lose weight and maintain it
For the study, the researchers mined relevant clinical data from more than 5,000 records.

If you look at a large group of people who are overweight and trying to lose weight, the response to exercise is not that great; but now researchers have found that this is true for participants whose diets resist the obese phenotype
