Colon cancer is the third most common cancer in the world.
Colon cancer is the third most common cancer in the world.
Researchers collected data on patients who underwent colorectal surgery in 8 hospitals in the Netherlands from 2011 to 2014.
The results of the study showed that visceral fat was associated with anastomotic leakage in the elective colectomy group (n = 2011) (n = 359).
Although this study confirmed the independent association between visceral fat and anastomotic leakage, it was limited to patients with elective colon cancer resection.
