. Texanol
(2,2,4-trimethyl-1.3-glycol monoodes)film-forming additives used in latex paint, slow evaporation, soluble in water. It gives coatings many excellent properties, such as: scrub resistance, color display, storage stability and so on. It is an excellent film-forming additive for polymer latex, with high hydrolysis stability and can be used in many different types of emulsions, including acrylic emulsions with high PH values. When Texanol is added to the latex paint, it is adsorbed by polymer latex particles, which soften the latex particles so that they can be fused during the coating drying process. Because Texanol is insoluble in water, it is not in the water phase. When coating a porous substrate, Texanol does not reduce the film-forming effect because it is not absorbed with water.the concentration of polygenic additives required for optimal performance of latex paint depends mainly on the minimum film-forming temperature of latex polymers, and hard polymers require more polygenic aids than soft polymers to achieve the same polymeric effect. When testing latex paint, the concentration of Texanol ester alcohols can preferably start at 5% to 10%, depending on the weight of the latex polymer solid.. EASTMAN TEXANOL
