    On March 9, 2022, the European Food Safety Authority issued an opinion on the safety evaluation of a glucan 1,4 -α- glucosidase (glucan 1,4-α-glucosidase) .
     
    It is understood that this food enzyme is produced by the transgenic Aspergillus niger strain NZYM-BR and is intended to be used in starch processing for the production of glucose syrup and distilled alcohol
