Breakthrough in rapeseed breeding and comprehensive utilization
Zhejiang University recently announced that experts from 7 units including the Institute of Crop Science, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, organized by the Zhejiang Provincial Science and Technology Evaluation and Achievement Transformation Center, recently conducted a review of the "Yellow Seed High Oil, High Yield, High Yield and Stress Resistant Rape Varieties" developed by Professor Zhou Weijun's team from Zhejiang University.
Professor Zhou Weijun's team used cutting-edge technologies such as Brassica interspecies hybridization, embryo rescue, and molecular polymerization to successfully select and breed plants with moderate growth periods.
The team has also developed 3 sets of high-yield and high-quality cultivation techniques, such as "no-tillage direct seeding", "sparse planting and precise control", and "latency-tolerant spring hair", which are matched with the Zhejiang University 630 series of high-quality yellow-seed rape varieties.
