There is currently a lack of large longitudinal studies on androgen levels in pregnant women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).
Metformin
The study was conducted in 11 secondary care centers and included 262 PCOS women and 119 control women.
The results showed that compared with healthy controls, women with PCOS had higher levels of A4, T and FTI and lower levels of SHBG at all measurement time points during pregnancy.
In summary, the results of this study show that metformin has no effect on the maternal androgen of PCOS pregnancy.
