    With the in-depth study of the pathogenesis of intestinal mucosal immunopathology , biological agents have brought new dawn to the clinical treatment of IBD, mainly including targeted blocking of various pro-inflammatory cytokines (such as TNF-α, IL-12/IL-23), and inhibit the migration of activated leukocytes to the intestinal mucosa (such as integrin α4β7)

    Since 2005, a total of 13,231 patients have been diagnosed with UC in Israel (1,426 [11%] are children , 10,310 [78%] are adults, and 1,495 [11%] are elderly), with a total follow-up time of 93675 Man year
