Recurrence of thyroid cancer is associated with increased mortality, and early detection of recurrence of thyroid cancer has been shown to improve the prognosis of patients
Recently, a research article was published in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, an authoritative journal in the field of endocrine and metabolic diseases.
The researchers analyzed the Cancer Genome Atlas data (TCGA) to determine the differentially expressed genes (mRNA/microRNA) in 46 recurrent and 455 non-recurrent thyroid tumors
The researchers identified 128 new potential biomarkers related to recurrence, including 40 mRNA, 39 miRNA and 59 genetic variants
It can be seen that the newly proposed risk model based on combined mRNA and microRNA expression can be used as a prognostic indicator of recurrence, and these results can help predict recurrence earlier
