Purpose: Diabetic nephropathy (DKD) is one of the most common chronic microvascular complications of diabetes, but there is still a lack of effective treatment strategies
    .

Yishen Paidu Recipe (YSPDF) is a traditional Chinese medicine preparation that has been clinically used to treat chronic kidney disease (CKD) for more than 20 years

Results: Yangshen Paidu Decoction can significantly improve the various biochemical indicators of rats (fasting blood glucose, blood creatinine, blood urea nitrogen, 24h urine total protein, total cholesterol, total triglycerides), improve renal pathological changes and renal tissue fiber
    .

In addition, it can significantly inhibit the oxidative stress state and the levels of inflammatory cytokines (TNF-α, IL-6, IL-1β and monocyte chemoattractant protein-1)

    .

    (A) Oxidative stress parameters include reactive oxygen species (ROS), malondialdehyde (MDA), glutathione (GSH), superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase (CAT)

Figure 3 YSPDF can inhibit the production of inflammatory factors in INB/DBM mice
    .

ELISA was used to detect the pro-inflammatory factors TNF-α, IL-6, IL-1β, monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1), compared with the normal control group #p<0:05 and ##p<0 :001, compared with diabetic nephropathy group∗p<0:05, ∗∗p<0:01, ∗∗∗p<0:001

Our research shows that Yangshen Paidu Decoction may reduce kidney damage in db/db mice by inhibiting oxidative stress, inflammation and EMT, and its mechanism may be related to the activation of Nrf2 pathway
