    Guo Yunxue, an associate researcher at the South China Sea Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, has established a novel detection method for mild bacteriophages


    Bacteriophages are viruses that feed on bacteria.


    Bacteriophages are the enemy of microbial laboratories and bacterial industrial fermentation plants.


    Since mild phages can hide in the host bacteria, the conventional " dual-plate detection " takes a long time, has low throughput and is not highly sensitive


    The research work has received the general project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the major project of basic and applied basic research of Guangdong Province, the local innovation team project of Guangdong Province, the independent deployment project of South China Sea Innovation Institute, the major special project of Guangdong Laboratory of Southern Ocean Science and Engineering (Guangzhou), etc.
