The association of serum amyloid A (SAA) consistent with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is not fully established

The researchers searched PubMed, the Cochrane Library, Embase and the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) database for relevant articles up to May 2021

As a result, a total of 33 studies were included in this study, including 3524 RA cases and 3537 normal participants

Taken together, the findings of this study suggest that high levels of SAA may be associated with an increased risk of RA, and that SAA concentrations may gradually increase with worsening RA
