Recently, the Innovation Team of Grass Germplasm Resources and Breeding Application of the School of Grass Industry Science and Technology of Sichuan Agricultural University has made new progress in the study of the physiological and molecular response mechanism of the important forage grass white clover to heavy metal cadmium (Cd) stress

The study found that most of the cadmium was retained in the roots of white clover, and was mainly fixed in the cell wall, while cadmium stress activated the defense system of antioxidant enzymes in white clover
