Food Partners.com On October 5, 2018, the European Union Food Safety Authority (EFSA) announced plans to revise the maximum remaining amount of epoxiconazole in beetroot.
In accordance with section 6 of Regulation 396 / 2005 (EC), the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board submitted a request to the competent national authorities in the United Kingdom to modify the maximum available residue of the active substance fluoroconazole in beetroot.
On the basis of the risk assessment, the EU Food Safety Authority concluded that, in accordance with reported agricultural practices, short- and long-term intake of residues resulting from the use of fluoro cyclocondium was unlikely to pose a risk to the health of consumers, and that the maximum remaining EU residue of fluoroconazole in beetroot was 0.05 mg/kg (LOQ) and the proposed limit was 0.1 mg/kg.
