Nature has created a large number of biological enzymes to catalyze various biochemical reactions and biological processes

Since it is not possible to compare the catalytic activity, substrate selectivity, kinetics and reactive oxygen species (ROS) production of different M-Nx single-atom centers, and to analyze the related catalytic ROS production mechanism, etc.

Theoretical calculation results show that the catalytic pathway and activity of AMEs are closely related to the electronic structure of the metal active center

Figure 5: Pathway and theoretical analysis of catalytic ROS production activity

In this study, for the first time, 20 single-atom libraries of ROS-catalyzing metalloproteinases with regular nanocube morphology, consistent size and specific surface area but different metal centers were synthesized, and the enzyme centers of related single-atom materials were systematically analyzed and compared.
